13 Street

“The 13 Streets”, is a traditional old district in Ma Tau Kok, have been long known for the clustering of garage business and the 11 vertical streets.
The Hong Kong graphic art fiesta going to have a art exhibition at Cattle Depot Artist Village. The aims of this is to promote the feature of “The 13 street” to citizens. The namings of those 13 street is all composed by animal name. And the street is clustering of garage. Our concept of this art piece want to present these two feature.
This series of art pieces adopted the elements of the 13 streets, car components, using the method of cyanotype to introduce the 11 kinds of lucky animals in Chinese custom represented by the street names. We hope our work can capture the uniqueness and the characteristics of the district, at the outlook of urban re-establishment in the future.
